In Southern California, no one ever lives more than thirty miles from the nearest fault line. Sasha Bloom is standing right on top of one when her world literally crumbles around her. With her mother now dead and her father out of the picture, Sasha moves in with her estranged grandparents. She has no idea who she is anymore, but her grandparents are certain of who she should be. They tell her what classes to take, what to eat, and who to date.

Sasha tries to make everything work, but that means folding away her love of photography, her grief for her mother, and her growing interest in the girl next door, Lily Chen.

Being friends with Lily could lead somewhere new and force Sasha to stop being the girl everyone expects–and it just might let the Sasha beneath the surface break through.
