Description
Hands Across the Waters: From Michigan to Norway.
While on vacation in Molde, Norway, in 1992, Marjorie Nelson met Gerd Villadsen, the owner of a small quilt shop named “Syskrinet AS.” The two quilters quickly formed an enduring friendship, and before the week was out, Marjorie was teaching classes in Gerd’s shop.
The two met again six years later at International Quilt Market and Festival in Houston, Texas, where some idle chatting led to a round robin exchange between quilters from the two countries. Now, Marjorie and her daughter, Rebecca Nelson-Zerfas, have co-authored “Friendship in Bloom,” exploring the round robin experience between them and their Norwegian friends.
“Friendship in Bloom” guides you through setting up your own round robin group. In addition to 20 “Quilt Recipes” Marjorie and Rebecca offer over 50 patterns including templates for applique, square, triangular and plain boarders.
It’s an unforgettable collection of friendship-inspired quilts.
